📊 How Do I Set the Email Sending Limit in cPanel?

🔧 Setting It via WHM (Requires Root Access)

  1. Log In to WHM You usually log in as root at serverip:2087 .

  2. Go to Tweak Settings → Mail Tab Path: WHM > Server Configuration > Tweak Settings > Mail

  3. Max hourly emails per domain This setting determines the maximum number of emails each domain can send per hour. For example, if you enter 50 , each domain can send at most 50 emails per hour2.

  4. Save and Apply After changing the setting, click “Save” to activate it.

🧾 Setting It from the Command Line (Advanced)

If you want to set a custom limit for each user:

bash
nano /var/cpanel/users/username

Add this line to the file:

Code
MAX_EMAIL_PER_HOUR=50

Then rebuild the configuration:

bash
/scripts/updateuserdomains
/scripts/buildeximconf
service exim restart
