How Do I Change My Domain's DNS (NS) Addresses?

NS (name server) addresses determine which server your domain points to. To publish your website on webevi hosting, your domain's NS addresses must point to webevi.

webevi name server addresses

  • dns1.webevi.com
  • dns2.webevi.com

If your domain is registered with webevi

  1. Log in to your client area on webevi.com.
  2. Go to My Domains and click the Manage button next to the domain.
  3. Open the Nameservers tab.
  4. Select Use custom nameservers and enter the two addresses above.
  5. Click Save Changes.

If your domain is registered with another provider

Log in to the panel of the provider where you bought the domain, find the DNS / Nameserver settings of your domain and enter the same two addresses. Menu names may differ from provider to provider.

When does the change take effect?

An NS change usually takes effect within a few hours, but it can take 24-48 hours to spread worldwide. During this time some visitors may see the old server and some the new one. This is normal.

Please note

  • When you change the NS addresses, all DNS records at your old provider (A, MX, TXT) stop being used. If you get e-mail service from somewhere else, remember to add your MX records in your webevi panel.
  • Do not add a dot or space at the end of the NS address.
