Domain Registration

Domain registration, or registering a domain name, is the process of choosing the digital address of a website and owning it for a certain period. The registered domain is in your name and nobody else can take it, at least until it expires.

🧭 How Do I Register a Domain?

1. Choose a Domain Name

  • Choose a suitable name for your brand, project or personal use.

  • It is usually better to avoid Turkish characters (such as ç, ğ, ş).

2. Search and Check Availability

  • To check whether the domain is available, you can search at www.webevi.com.

3. Registration and Payment

  • You rent the domain on a yearly basis (usually between 1 and 10 years).

  • .com.tr Some extensions, such as this one, may require documents, although these requirements have been relaxed in recent years.

4. DNS and Redirect Settings

  • After getting the domain, you can activate your website and email system by configuring its DNS records.

  • Records such as A, MX and CNAME come into play here.

5. Renewal and Monitoring

  • The domain must be renewed before it expires. Otherwise it will expire and could be taken by someone else.
